Want to create abundance in business while managing ADHD and surviving the daily news sludge?
I’ve got a few secrets for you...😈
LIFE REVELATIONS that I learned over the past 18 years running online businesses.
INSIGHT into how to prod my ADHD brain to take action on my biggest dreams.
Day by day, step-by-step. As a dual American-Australian, whose birth country has been like the meth-house rental of the global neighborhood.😂
Sometimes I think it's these little thought-nuggets we crave most from each other when we're scrolling online...
We're wondering, what new insights can this person give me? What can I learn that's new and will give me a new reason to continue living? How are other people COPING with what's going on right now? And how can we make sense of it? Or laugh about it? Share some tips on how to keep going?
Not more ''information'' and AI-generated garbage. 🙄
So buckle up for this one. I'm getting personal AF today!
We're doing thought nuggets, and we're doing it LISTICLE style!
I'm sharing 5 of my BIGGEST life revelations for creating abundance in business.
Even when you have a massively distracted, neurospicy squirrel-brain like mine. (And the junkies down the street are screaming obscenities and throwing poo at each other! 💩)
I’ll show you how to prod your ADHD brain into taking action. Despite whatever is happening in the news.
And to actively build creative abundance without feeling weirded out that you're trying to sell things and make a living when the world is on FIRE. 🔥
This is not dululu-is-the-solulu advice to selfishly fixate on your own life and ignore reality. It's more about reframing how you're thinking about grim realities in order to cope in the best way possible.
And gently shifting thoughts that might not be serving you or anyone else with thoughts that not only help you and your business, but that also serve to help raise the general vibe of the whole world rn.
So if you've ever felt like an icky little capitalist piglet because you're trying to sell stuff when people are out protesting for basic fn human rights, this is for you.

What is Abundance In Business? Here's how I define it (It's NOT all about money!)
Abundance in business is the feeling - as a business owner - that there is ENOUGH for all of us out there. MORE than enough, in fact. Enough money, resources, and opportunities. And that every creative business owner has the potential to enjoy unlimited success. Not everyone WANTS it. But the few who go after it have the potential to have it.
DESPITE the fact that there are people who are actively hoarding wealth, withholding resources, and generally being giant pains-in-the-asses for the rest of us. (The orcas know EXACTLY who I'm talking about!😂)
It's an optimistic mindset that through collaboration and shared innovation, we COULD all be better off.
But what I'm NOT saying here is the delusional belief that we do not face massive opposition to our pursuit of unlimited success.
Or a denial of privilege. And oppression.
But the HOPE that, with enough collective agreement, we all COULD enjoy abundance.
The opposite of abundance in business is fear-based competition.
Abundance in business focuses on the ''win-win'' path of thinking.
It's about sharing knowledge and seeing failure as valuable lessons rather than proof that there isn't enough to go around.
The ''win-win'' thinking path is a CHOICE.
It's like choosing between a greasy hotdog or a colorful three-bean salad. Only one of those is going to be a nourishing resource for your mind and body. The other one is only a resource for the sewage system or for fertilizer!💩
It's a CHOICE to choose thinking that is healthier for our brains.
So when you're a business owner with ADHD, the way I personally define creative abundance is unlimited personal resources that you can continually draw on in pursuit of success.
Neurospicy biz owners can create abundance by knowing how to use ADHD traits.
Traits like hyper-focused creativity and pattern recognition.
But whether you are neurodivergent or not, you may find these 5 personal life revelations useful for helping you stay on track with your goals despite feeling like we're constantly on the verge of the end of the world.
Or for feeling GUILTY when you're online promoting yourself, just trying to make a living.
1. Executive Management in Business = Emotional DETACHMENT From Outcomes
Imagine how much less anxiety you'd have in your life if you were able to give fewer fucks over, for example:
- Who wins an election (especially when you're not even LIVING IN THAT COUNTRY)
- If anybody likes, comments, or shares that last post you created
- What your clients think about anything outside of the deliverables you are paid to give them. And that you KNOW you do as best you can! No more second-guessing and uncertainty about the client relationship or your work.
- Or how long a big project is taking
What if you could just enjoy the process of work, NO MATTER what was happening in the world?💃
Not because you did not CARE (I know you care a LOT!) but because you valued your own work HIGHLY enough to not allow yourself to get distracted?
What would that feel like?
I realized years ago that I was caring WAY too much about too many things that are just not that important TO ME.
They may be generally important to society, but the critical question we have to ask ourselves as business owners is how important is this to TO ME right now?
Over-concern just creates anxiety, and anxiety blocks productivity.
The only thing we should be concerned about with 100% of our being is: does it directly impact my business VISION?
The answer will be NO for 99% of the stuff we worry about.
Concern and keeping ourselves aware and informed of everything happening around us is our responsibility as a good citizen, content creator, contractor for clients, and business owner.
But ANXIETY is a sign of over-concern, and the remedy for that is DETACHMENT.
It's healthy to be emotionally detached from outcomes.
Whether that outcome is an election, how new content will land, what clients privately think, or how long it's going to take you to build your business vision.
We have to stay on track to keep working on our BIG DREAM. And in order to do so, we need to be able to DETACH from all outcomes.
If you're wondering HOW to do that, this next concept is your answer...
2. Productivity In Business = Taking Responsibility For Your Own JOY
Mega-rich business gurus we love will tell us to grind 7 days a week and eat instant noodles until we're earning at least 6-figures.
But unless you find enjoyment in grinding itself, that is a fast track to resentment and burnout.☠️🔥
Several years into self-employment, working from home, I realized that I had been trying to outsource my joy.
I had been hoping to find my joy at home, on weekends, or late evenings when I'm not working hard on building my dream. Or in my partner, or in friends, or in things that used to bring me joy.
But we cannot ''find'' our joy - we must MAKE IT.
I realized I was tired of going to the same mall for late Thursday night shopping alone, even with my diary. Tired of the same kind of parties, clubs, cafes, and restaurants. I was SO BORED!
Like many people with ADHD, I have a RAVENOUS appetite for NOVELTY. I cannot stand doing the same things too often!
I realized I needed to take an inventory of all the things that I crave, and take responsibility to give those things TO MYSELF rather than hope to ''find'' them elsewhere.
Boredom is a sign of inner turmoil - another form of anxiety.
The remedy for boredom is to explore what emotional needs we have that are not being met.
I discovered my strong inner need for adventure and novelty wasn't being met. So, I made plans:
- Enjoying mini-day trips into the city (Melbourne) by myself via PT so I can explore and walk on foot, read while traveling, and have a couple of glasses of wine at a cafe with my diary.
- Meeting new like-minded people at business and marketing networking events, childfree & ADHD women's groups
- Staying at a hotel alone overnight to have more time alone, which truly brings me joy (I love my partner and two dogs, but time alone in an unfamiliar place is deeply rejuvenating)
Overall, I believe true self-care is less about DOING things and more about self-coaching yourself.
Asking,'What is it I need? Feeling? Afraid of?'
What do I WANT to feel?
Self-coaching helps us process our feelings so that we're less mired in them. We are then able to DETACH from them.
Because now we have done the work of sifting what's serving us from what is not.
And the more we do that, the more energy we will have to toward building our dream and making more money! 🪄💸
3. Customer Service in Business = Showing Up For Yourself FIRST
FIRST: Ok, confession time!
On the day that someone tried to assassinate Trump, I got WAY hyper-fixated on politics and gave way too many fucks about what people were saying about it. Got ravenous about all the memes. And I posted a LONG, angry rant indirectly aimed at the MAGA-supporting people I personally knew.🙄
A couple of hours later, I deleted it. I realized I'd really let myself down…
Usually, I don't ever delete things. But in this case, I did because I asked myself: How is the energy I am putting into this serving my business dream or my dream customer??!
How does this rant got anything to do with my main marketing message? (other than ''Throw Rocks at Common Enemies'' but typically in business marketing its best to make the ''enemies'' something internal, like overwhelm or impostor syndrome.)
My divisive rant was not serving my audience.
And what doesn't serve our audience, doesn't serve our business vision.
I've often felt conflicted about how much we should share about our political or religious beliefs online when we're running an online business.
But I now think it comes down to this easy litmus test: Does it HELP my audience?
If not, don't post it.
I want to show up for myself for my big dream, which means showing up for my audience above anything else.
To do the emotional labor for them. Not shed my emotional BAGGAGE on them.❌
When we clean up our own energy, by default, we're cleaning it up for the people we're serving as well.
4. Growth in Business = Patient Manifesting
A few times over the years, I've had clients on consult calls who tell me they have tried EVERYTHING and ''nothing works''. That they are on the verge of giving up. Closing it all up. Going back to full-time work.
So, I'll ask them, ''How long have you been in business?'' And if they say anything less than 18 months, I know that the number one problem they are facing is their mindset.
Their impatience.
Service businesses typically take 3 to 4 months to become profitable if you're marketing for sales.
Product businesses, on the other hand, take 13 months minimum on average. Just to start breaking even! It all depends on the marketing strategy, but the key input of the business owner is their mindset.
When I know that the issue a client is facing is a mindset issue, some of the signs are, for example, unreasonable expectations for how fast they can grow their Instagram following.
Or they are afraid of running a paid Facebook Ad campaign, because they don't understand that they are still always buying data, even when they're not getting leads or sales.
Procrastination, poor time management, and overwhelm are also often just mindset issues.
For all of these things, you need a mentor to help you see the thoughts that are not serving you. And to help you believe in yourself, or in the data that you may not quite understand enough to trust as an experienced marketer does.
Abundance in business is a feeling of patience and calm.
Enjoying the work we do while having extreme clarity on WHY we are doing it.
Taking care of ourselves so we can better take care of others.
Keeping our big business vision bright AF in our mind, and not forgetting WHO we are serving as we work toward building it.
This was one (if not THE) biggest transformations in my thinking that immediately led to making MORE money right away. I let GO of my need to meet deadlines. Or feeling disappointed that things were not happening faster.
As soon as I started to ease into the reality that choosing self-employment is a long-haul flight to success, I relaxed and chose to enjoy the ride.
And as SOON AS I DID - immediately after - THAT'S when I would wake up to client referrals, overnight sales, and big jumps in audience growth. THAT'S when miracles happened!
The universe takes note that you're in receive and wait for my order to arrive mode. Not demand-where-it's-at-with-every-postal- checkpoint-mode. Demanding Karens cannot manifest!
Source responds to the energy of a calm nervous system and to the authentic self-expression of creative flow.🪄🔮
When you are impatient, you are keeping your mind and body on alert.
You are blocking your ability to receive.

5. Financial Abundance In Business = Self-Compassion Before MONEY
Now, here is a much more recent life revelation as a marketing mentor focused on helping my clients grow their audience and online revenue...
We make a big mistake when we prioritize making money over feeling good about ourselves.💥
When we beat ourselves up over not meeting financial goals. Or our subscriber or follower goals...
We are falling out of alignment with the nurturing, patient, loving relationship with ourselves that being an entrepreneur REQUIRES.
It's like when you're in a romantic relationship, and you are saying nasty things about your partner's character rather than about their behavior. You're telling yourself, ''YOU're a failure! Why aren't you better at this?''
When it should be, ''Ok, so, THAT didn't work! Good on you for trying! But now we need to try something else!''
What if you focused on how you feel each day rather than how much you're earning?
How much more energy would that create for you to keep experimenting, keep building, keep networking?
This is one of the most critical skills you can have as a business owner. The faith in your eventual success before there is any evidence of success!
Running a business is like having an open quarry where you have to keep DIGGING to reach success.
Without all the trucks of self-compassion running 24/7, removing all the dirt and rocks, you'll never find what you're looking for!
Faith is a full-on industrial operation.
But it runs on self-compassion FIRST. Then, from all that digging, you start making the money and enjoying the success.
It does not work the other way around.
The better you feel, the more money you make.
Abundance in Business is a Mindset You Can Choose To Have NOW
It’s the belief that there is more than enough opportunity, creativity, and success available for those willing to pursue it. Even in a world shaped by inequality, privilege, and competition.
Rather than operating from fear or scarcity, an abundant business owner chooses patience, collaboration, continuous learning, and continuous experimenting. A win-win way of thinking!
So, I hope I've helped you see that abundance in business is intentionally crafted and created INTERNALLY FIRST.
By emotionally detaching from outcomes. Taking responsibility for your own joy. Showing up for your audience with intention, practicing patience with long-term growth. And always leading with self-compassion well before financial results show up.
Especially for neurodivergent and creative entrepreneurs, abundance in business comes from learning to work with your natural sensitivities and traits instead of against them.
Ultimately, abundance in business is less about chasing money and more about cultivating a calm, resilient mindset that allows creativity, opportunity, and income to flow naturally over time.
