Wishing the universe will send you lots of money?
Creatively visualizing a better job?
Do I already hear you scribbling in your gratitude journal or is it the bubbling gurgle of sick in your mouth because you read the words ‘Law of Attraction’?
What if I were to tell you the real secret behind the Law of Attraction? The secret behind ‘The Secret’ that make those of us who believe in the Law of Attraction able to make it work for us?
And at the same time, validate those who believe it’s all a bunch of hooey?
Well, take a seat because here it is: whether you believe it’s real or believe it’s not, you’re correct.
If you believe in it, it works.
If you don’t believe in it, it doesn’t work.
So, how the hell does it work?
A couple of years ago, a film crew went into a small town in England and interviewed people to ask them if they felt they were lucky or unlucky. Then they secretly created ‘lucky’ opportunities to see if the perception people had of themselves had to do with something they did or didn’t do to make luck happen.
They found that when people felt lucky, they tended to be more open to people and things that brought them more good fortune and opportunities. Those who saw themselves as unlucky tended to be more closed-off to people and opportunities–even so far as not seeing a 50 pound note planted right in front of them on the sidewalk!
Studies have proven that luck is a mindset.
The secret to the Law of Attraction is that 99% of it is not even metaphysical.
The Law of Attraction is 99% clarity on what you want, consistent focus on ways to get it, goal-setting, a clear vision of a desired outcome, and about 1% coincidences and luck that get recognized because the lucky person looks for them.
Yes, a lot of people believe it has to do with external forces that science can’t explain yet. There’s a helluva lot of fluffiness out there, no doubt. But when you rationalize why creative visualization and Law of Attraction methods of thinking could work, it makes a lot of sense if you think of them as useful tools in achieving goals.
It all boils down to what I believe is a necessary first step to self-transformation and designing the life you want to live: have a growth mindset instead of a fixed one.
What you get out of life is always going to be a reflection of your thought processes and the actions that you take in following them.
So, call those thought processes whatever you like; growth mindset, magic, etc., but I prefer calling it the Law of Attraction because I like the proactive, creative action implied in making things happen, attracting things through force of mindful willpower.
Mindful willpower is the secret to creating the life you want to live, which is what I want to help people do here. I love seeing people achieve things. Big things. I love seeing people get what they want and be happier for it.
So, start that gratitude journal and meditate with creative visuals of the life you want, start a vision board, whatever. It’s not all that woo-woo after all–so long as you’re following everything you think through with actions to help make it happen!
